Erika Kesuma is a choral conductor and piano teacher. She has been assisting in school choirs since she was 17, and has over a decade of teaching experience. She has led school choirs in Zhonghua Primary School and Anderson Secondary School, and pioneered a home-school choir group, Voices in The Rain (VOIR), which had its first showcase in June 2023.
Erika specialises in working with young children and adopts Kodály teaching methods which she learnt under the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary.
Under the mentorship of Mr Terrence Toh, Erika has had solo performances at venues such as the Esplanade Concert Hall, with her first solo at the age of 15 during the biennial Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Competition. She was a student conductor at CHIJ Katong Convent and Nanyang Junior College choir and had also conducted at Nanyang Junior College Alumni Choir’s concert at the Victoria Concert Hall.
Erika believes that every child should enjoy what they learn and that they each can learn music and rhythm even at a young age. Her lessons center around values such as teamwork and respect and believes that the classroom is where students’ character grows and have their values shaped. She’s a firm believer in giving young people opportunities.
With a breadth of experience in media and theatre performance, Erika has written both songs and scripts for the stage and the screen. She has won several competitions for her creative work at Nanyang Technological University as a Communications undergraduate. She furthered her technical understanding of music recording in LASALLE in 2019. Her compositions and works span a wide range of genres. In 2016, She appeared on Indonesian National Television in her debut musical theatre performance and written works. In 2022, she wrote two original scripts for the Singapore Lyric Opera’s (SLO) Children and Youth Chorus for their first musical-theatre production– Sunshine Through The Rain and three sell-out shows Quack Quack Moo. Her creative writing workshops also led her students at Zhonghua Primary School to be shortlisted in the SYF Youth Station songwriting project.
She is currently a choral conductor at Geylang Methodist School (Primary), and Singapore Lyric Opera’s Children’s Chorus, as well as an assistant conductor at CHIJ Katong Convent.

Cassandra Chen is a choral conductor, vocal coach and vocalist.
In 2010, she started her journey in music education as a vocal coach and assistant conductor in various primary and secondary schools. Her passion in educating youths through music eventually led her to fulfilling her dream as a full-time music educator since 2018.
Cassandra wishes to continually seek opportunities in developing and inspiring students to grow in their character while discovering their talents for music. She values character building in her choirs – such as teamwork, responsibility and drive in doing the important, as she firmly believes that music can help develop one’s confidence and motivation to excel. With the help of music and development of character, she believes the students can be empowered to develop their leadership and social skills at any age.
Through the years, she has been passionate about performing and has participated in numerous recitals, operettas, overseas choral competitions and short plays which helped to expand her experience in various performance styles. Some memorable performances and competitions were the Hans Zimmer’s LIVE tour (Singapore Grand Prix 2019), Tokyo International Choral Competition 2018 (Contemporary Category – First Place) and Sarawak International Festival of Music and Arts 2019. In 2019, she also achieved an Associate Diploma (ATCL) in Singing Recital (Music Performance) from Trinity College, London.
Cassandra has also led her school choirs through multiple choral festivals, community events and competitions. Her choirs have accomplished distinctions and accomplishments in the Singapore Youth Festival Presentation and have been invited to perform at events like the Istana Open House, SYF Celebrations, NAVY Open House and many more. She hopes that through her guidance, her students can be provided with a head start to all that music has to offer.
She is currently a choral conductor at Changkat Primary School, Chung Cheng High (Yishun), Tampines Secondary School and Canberra Secondary School.
