Zhang Feng

Zhang Feng graduated in 1990 from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China with a degree in Music for vocal and opera singing. He was tutored by famous Chinese vocal professor such as Shen Xiang, Guo Su Zhen and Zhou Xiao Yan in vocal singing skill and opera performance. After arriving in Singapore 1994, he performed in various operas and concerts with the Singapore Lyric Opera including 3 Baritones in A Christmas Concert, Scarpia in Tosca and Father in Hansel and Gretel.

1997 he competed in the Mondial Chinese Vocalist Concours Rome, Italy and was awarded the second prize and the coveted prize for delivering the best Chinese Art Song. In 1999, Zhang received the consolation prize in the Opera Showcase Competition in New Haven, USA. In 2001, he received the 5th prize in the Queen Opera Singing Competition in New York, USA.
