Wang Ya-Hui is currently Music Director of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. She has served as Music Director of the Evergreen (Taipei, Taiwan), Akron (Ohio, USA), Fort Smith (Arkansas, USA) symphony orchestras, Associate Conductor of the Pacific Music Festival (Japan), Assistant Conductor of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (USA) and Apprentice Conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (USA) under Maestro Daniel Barenboim.
Winner of several prestigious international conducting competitions, Wang has conducted many major orchestras around the world. Renée Fleming, one of opera's most celebrated sopranos today, invited Wang Ya-Hui to conduct her concerts, including a Gala at the Baltimore Opera.
Wang has also conducted Strauss' Salome and Puccini's Madame Butterfly with the Danish National Opera, and Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake with the Royal Danish Ballet. Wang Ya-Hui grew up in Singapore and is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore.
