Maria Rachelle Gerodias is one of the Philippines’ most sought after sopranos.
Ms Gerodias holds a Master’s Degree in Voice Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, a Professional Diploma at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and a BM in Voice at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music.
Ms Gerodias has collaborated with celebrated artists like Christoph Eschenbach and legendary opera diva Mirella Freni.
She essayed the role of Liu in Turandot for her European debut at the Volksoper Wien and has appeared as Despina in Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach. Singapore audiences were enthralled by her rendition of Kathy in The Student Prince, Micaëla in Carmen, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Liu in Turandot.
She appeared as Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia for the Daegu International Opera Festival 2010 in South Korea making her the first Filipina to perform at the Daegu Opera House. She recently performed Violetta in La Traviata (Manila) and Zerlina in Don Giovanni (S. Korea).
