Born in Marseille, Luca Lombardo has studied singing C. Thiolas and has been a laureate in prestigious competitions such as the Caruso Competition in Milan, Georges Thill., Voix d’Or.
He made his debut in 1989 in Simon Boccanegra (Gabriele Adorno) at the Vlaamse Opera, conducted by S. Cambreling, then Cavalleria Rusticana in Sydney and Melbourne.
His meteoric rise brought him to exclusive performance destinations such as Geneva for Simon Boccanegra , Vienna and Paris-Bastille for Othello next to Placido Domingo, the La Scala in Milan for Cherubini’s Lodoiska and La Vestale conducted by R. Muti.
A singer very much in demand, Luca Lombardo has performed in major roles such as Rodolfo (La Boheme) in Glyndebourne and Paris Opera-comique, Hoffman (The Tales of Hoffman) in Toulon, Don Jose (Carmen) in Cleveland, Paris National Opera and Stade de France, just to name a few.
He is regularly invited by the Paris National Opera for Carmen’s Don Jose, the title-role of the Tales of Hoffmann, I Vespri Siciliani (Henri de Monfort), Louise (Noctambule – Pape des Fous).
