Khor Ai Ming

A versatile soprano, actively involves in both contemporary and classical scenes in Singapore, Khor sang the Singapore premiere of Claire Zachanassian in Gottfried von Einem's Der Besuch der alten Dame, a modern Swiss opera, premiered in Singapore at the Durrenmatt's Festival organised by The Swiss Embassy. Her many other Singapore premieres includes Schoenberg's complete cycle of PIERROT LUNAIRE, Berio's O KING, Gaslini's MAGNIFICAT with The Magnetic Band, Irish composer Paul Wilson's award-winning SPIRITUS in Computer Music Conference, and Messiaen's La Mort du Nombre in Spectrum, a contemporary classical chamber music series presented by Esplanade.

As a chamber musician and recitalist, Khor was featured in Singapore Chamber Music Festival performing works by Cantaloube, de Falla, Poulenc, Ravel and Bernstein. In The Arts House's 2nd Anniversary Celebrations, Khor has premiered 20th century works by Cage, Stravinsky, Rorem, Carter, Ives, Berners, Takemitsu and Milhaud in Singapore. Under the tutelage of internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Liang Ning, Khor gave a sold-out solo recital at Esplanade in 2008. Her upcoming performances including solo recitals in Esplanade and The Arts House this October.

Khor is a holder of Fellowship in Voice (FTCL), and Licentiate in both Voice and Piano (LTCL) from Trinity College of London, UK. She has been vocal coach to SYC Ensemble Singers and is currently the Conductor to SLO Children's and Youth Choirs. She was the Opera Chorus Mistress for SLO's production of Offenbach's Tales of Hoffman and Puccini's La Boheme, and is currently the Chorus Mistress for Mozart's Magic Flute.
