A graduate of the University of Sydney and NIDA, Justin Way is currently Deputy Head of the Staff Directors at the Royal Opera House (ROH), Covent Garden. His productions include Giasone and Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail (Chicago Opera Theater), La bohème (The Minnesota Opera), Carmen (Canadian Opera Company), The Beggars Opera (Linbury Studio Theatre, ROH), Alcina and Orlando (Opera Australia), Semele, Fairy Queen and Dardanus (Pinchgut Opera) and La Traviata (Central City Opera).
Since joining the staff at the ROH in 2000, he has directed revivals of Salome, La Cenerentola, Madama Butterfly, and Il barbiere di Siviglia, as well as assisting on many new productions. He has revived ROH shows for the Teatro Real in Madrid; Liceu, Barcelona; Grand Theatre, Geneva; Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Centre, DC; Seoul Arts Centre and the Czech National Opera inBrno. As an assistant, he worked at the Bregenz Festival, the Rome Opera, English Touring Opera and the Australian Opera in his native Sydney.
