Cherylene Liew


Cherylene Liew graduated from The University of Queensland, Australia with a Bachelor of Music in Performance (Honours Class I) and a Master of Philosophy in Music (Voice). As a student, she not only made regular appearances at The University of Queensland Lunchtime Concert Series and the Customs House Concert Series, but was privileged to be selected to sing at the Universität Mozarteum Akademiekonzert, Salzburger Festspiele while studying briefly with Ms Lillian Sukis.

Currently based in Brisbane, Cherylene performs as a Soprano soloist regularly. Her recent performances include Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli with Musica Antiqua Collegii (Brisbane), Mendelssohn’s Hear my prayer with The Queensland Choir and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor with the Queensland Korean Orchestra. Most recently, she was a guest artiste singing the role of Rosalinde in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus at the Ghillian Sullivan Summer School.

In Singapore, Cherylene performed in Singapore Lyric Opera’s Opera in the Park in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012, Airs d’Opera in 2009, as well as their Annual Gala Concert in 2012. She also made her debut in Singapore Lyric Opera's Die Zauberflöte (2010) as The Second Lady, and went on to sing the role of Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen (2011) and Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni (2012).
