Born in Singapore, Beatrice graduated from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at the National University of Singapore where she studied piano performance with Dr. Koo Siaw Sing and Albert Tiu with a full scholarship from the National Arts Council. She then continued her postgraduate studies in London at the Royal Academy of Music with Patsy Toh, with the support of the Lee Foundation and the National Arts Council. Recently she completed a Masters Degree in collaborative piano at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève with Jean-Jacques Balet, graduating with a prize from the canton of Geneva.
She has performed widely in Switzerland, collaborating with instrumentalists, singers, choirs as well as contemporary music ensembles. Her two years of studies there saw her being invited to perform in two live radio broadcasts on the Radio Suisse Romande Espace 2, as keyboardist with L’Orchestre de Chambre de Genève and Ensemble Contrechamps, and as repetiteur for the Geneva competition (Concours de Genève) in 2008. She has also worked with various artists and pedagogues including Pierre Amoyal, Bruno Canino, Nobuko Imai, Anne le Bozec and György Kurtág, among many, throughout the course of her studies. Since her return to Singapore, she has been working as a freelance musician, also collaborating with the choirs and singers at the Singapore Lyric Opera.
