Anna Koor is a lyrical-dramatic mezzo-soprano known for her rich, mellow timbre. She holds a fellowship (FTCL) in Voice Performance and was one of the ten finalists at the World Chinese Vocal Competition (2000). In high demand as a clinician at music symposiums, Anna has presented in Jakarta, Shenzhen, Fu Ching, Miri, Sydney and New Zealand. She was invited to be the jury at the 29th West Malaysia National Vocal Competition (2003) and also at the Festa Canzone Art Song Competition, Singapore (2005).
Anna has performed in numerous public concerts in Singapore, East & West Malaysia, Jakarta, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Sydney including Festa Canzone Vocal Recital I & II, Lunchbox Concert@Esplanade, Golden Classics I & IV, A Touch of Baroque, Vocal Delights and A Woman’s Love & Life Solo Recital. She features regularly in oratorios and large chorus works including Mendelssohn’s St Paul, Elijah, Hymn of Praise, Psalm 95; Handel’s Messiah, Dixit Dominus; Haydn’s Nelson Mass; Beethoven’s 9 Symphonies, Mass in C; JS Bach’s Mass in B Minor, Magnificat; Mozart’s Requiem, Mass in C Major, Mass in C Minor; Vivaldi’s Gloria, Dixit Dominus and Rossini’s Stabat Mater.
Anna is a familiar face at Singapore Lyric Opera Productions and her performances with them include Opera on Silver Screen, Glimpses of Asia, Concert in Aid of Tsunami Victims, The Diva and the Dancer and Opera; The Journey and the titular role of Dido in Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas.
Currently a part-time lecturer (Voice) at the Singapore Bible College, Anna also gives private voice lessons and conducts vocal method classes for choirs of various churches and schools.
