International Filipino Baritone Andrew Fernando recently sung the role of Germont in the Cultural Center of the Philippines production of La Traviata, and Powhatan in Pocahontas with the Duluth Festival Opera. He was the Dog, Badger and Harasta in Long Beach Opera's Cunning Little Vixen and sang the role of Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana in the 400th Anniversary of University of Santo Tomas. He was the Baritone soloist in Haydn's The Seasons with Aula Simfonia Jakarta and in Verdi's Requiem with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
He has been a principal artist at the New York City Opera, Opera Pacific, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Opera San Jose, Singapore Lyric Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Virginia Arts Festival, Eugene Opera, and Walt Disney Hall, to name a few. Andrew is a First Prize winner of the prestigious Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition in the United States, an Opera Buff career grant recipient, Grand Prize winner in the Pasadena Opera Guild Voice Competition and winner in the Metropolitan Opera Competition in the Pacific Region.
He is an alumnus of the world-renowned San Francisco Opera Merola Program.
